Cool Picks: Hasbro Transformers Speed Stars: Metal Heroes Series Optimus Prime

This is a diecast image of Optimus Prime in vehicle mode based on the live Transformers movies. It measures approximately 3.5 inches in length almost the same scale as the Hotwheels car models. I’m going to tell you off the bat that this item does not transform into a robot, but even though it doesn’t, I love it because my son actually enjoys playing with it.

It is part of Hasbro’s Speed Stars: Metal Heroes toyline. On the bottom side of each toy vehicle is an image of the particular Transformer in robot mode. It’s supposed to be played by letting the toy stand on it’s rear when recreating “robot mode”. Take note that my son is just 4 years old and he still has a hard time playing with his other Transformers toys that actually transform. So I think these toys will appeal to the younger kids. The detail and paint job on the body is normal. But also I noticed that the plastic used in the construction, is for me, quite better than his other diecast toys because in just a few days of play time, the paint in most of his cars on the plastic parts have already become black and quite unsightly. Even the paint on the wheels on this one is noteworthy because it still does not show any peeling off even if my son has been constantly playing with it. The price is also a bargain, we got it for just 1.5$. This little gem can be bought at any Toys R Us and Toy Kingdom store outlets.
